An authentic replica of the 3.4 Litre Cosworth GAA V6 engine found in the 1974 Ford Capri RS3100 Group 2 race car.
This is another one of my favorites from this era of motorsport, the Mk.1 Ford Capri. It sounds really good thanks to that Cosworth built V6 engine that screams to almost 9000rpm naturally aspirated with ITBs. This particular build is more of a major rework of GearheadLydia's original Essex GAA build, as I felt it lacked a lot of character, some parts where really off or unrealistic and the sound was a bit lackluster. This engine's torque drops off past 5000rpm but it still manages to make 470hp detuned, still 30hp over spec and able to push up to 550hp unrestricted. The sound still isn't perfect and I wish was louder and had a more raspy note, but it's still a major improvement in authenticity and is the best I could do. The gearbox was also way off, so I tuned it gradually using onboard videos of the Capri as reference, and it resulted in almost perfectly identical gearing and acceleration.
Again, use your clutch to get the full experience and I included a few comments in the code for more detail.
I also have a custom color palette and theme, which you can download HERE.
Thanks, enjoy!
