This big 5.5 liter flat 6 is a modified Franklin O-335 aero engine that Tucker used in the Tucker 48 aka the Tucker Torpedo. It made 166 horsepower and about 372 pound-feet of torque, a torque monster all around. I tried to simulate its low idle of 100 RPM but I could only make it stay stable down at about 350 to 380 or so. From what I knew of Porsche aero engines I set the redline to 3600 RPM, as some O-335 models made peak power at 3200 so I thought 400 over was a reasonable redline for an aero-car conversion engine. It does make a bit more power and torque than the real thing did, I had spent enough hours fiddling to get it just right, had to modify the flow tables for the cylinder head ports, but overall I'm satisfied.
